AOM November 2023 ( Teresa Aguirre)

November 01, 20234 min read

Before I started coming to TrAk I had finished recovering from an injury and was quite devastated with how regressed my fitness had become. My mobility was limited and lifting weights like I had previously was difficult. It made me unmotivated.  - Teresa

AOM November:

What have you accomplished in your life that you're most proud of?

I am most proud of the business that my husband and I have built. It has provided great opportunities for my family and allowed us to live the lifestyle we have.

If you could take 3 months off and do whatever you wanted, what would that time look like?

If I had the ability to have 3 months off I would spend as much time with my family traveling. Head out West, visit the Red Wood Forest, the West Coast beaches and hike the Rocky Mountains.

8 Reasons

How do you feel now?

My motivation came back! I love working out at TrAk. Over this past year  I have seen a great improvement in my mobility and my strength is coming back.

How has TrAk changed your everyday life?

I would have to say changed my everyday life by giving me my confidence and passion for working out again. Since day one of me walking into the gym, everyone there was so friendly and motivating to better each other. That's when I knew I this was the place I wanted to come.

Goals...personal, professional, family?

My goal is to finish my Environmental Degree and hopefully, one day work with the Army Corps of Engineers.

Best place to travel that you've ever been?

One of my favorite places that I have traveled was to Black Hill and Needles in North Dakota. The vast landscape, mountains and lakes were beautiful.

What personal failure has helped lead to your ultimate success?

I got surpassed for a job position by others who had less time. I learned that it was not based on a lack of qualifications or the leadership's confidence in me but rather my inability to push myself out of my comfort zone. From there on I have pushed harder toward my goals and what I want. If I fail then I will learn from that an try again.

What three people [living or dead] would you go camping with next weekend?

I would love to go camping with my husband and our children, and make more memories.

Which sport/activity would you love to do, but are afraid to?

I am deathly afraid of heights but I have always had an interest in rock or mountain climbing.

Funniest things you've seen your spouse do?

At our property, my husband and I were repairing a washed-out bridge. He was in the excavator trying to position a huge boulder when it dropped out of the bucket and a tidal wave of muddy bank river water completely overtook the cab and soaked him. TWICE!

Best piece of advice you've ever received?

So what if you fail.

At what age were you in the best shape of your life?

I'd like to say 19-ish years old but for all-around fitness, I would have to say when I was 29-30 years old. I knew how to better fuel my body and how to properly do exercises as compared to when I was in my late teens or early twenties.

Words to live by or favorite quote?

Don't fake it til you make it. Face it till you make it. Get up. Work hard. Fail. Stand up and do it again a little better. Fail again. Get up. Repeat. - You are somebody's reason to Smile.

What adventure do you plan to have in the future? - I plan to have as many adventures as I can!

Favorite book and why?

One of my favorite books reading was The Good Earth by Pearl S. Buck because of its humbling theme of the nourishing power of the land. The connection to the land builds respect for nature, strong values, and work ethics. To me, it read that the simple things in life are fulfilling. Earth provides enough to satisfy every man's needs but not every man's greed.

What do you like most about being a part of the TrAk Family?

My favorite part of being at TrAk is that it IS a family. Everyone pushes each other to get better, to be stronger. Not only that but members take the time to get to know each other on a personal level outside the gym.

Biggest accomplishment at the gym?

My biggest accomplishment is back squatting 185lbs
