February AOM'S Transformation at TrAk

What have you accomplished in your life that you're most proud of?

-My biggest accomplishment is raising my son. He has grown up to be a wonderful human & I will always be proud of him. 

 

If you could take 3 months off and do whatever you wanted, what would that time look like?

- I would travel to Italy, Greece & Egypt. I have never been overseas & hope to hit at least 2 of these in the next 5-10 years.


 

How did you feel before you found TrAk? 

-I started during COVID in 2020 & after consuming an entire pan of brownies I decided it was time for a change. I was feeling like something had to change. 


 

How do you feel now?

-AMAZING! I am toning up & weighed in last week at my lowest since Vietnam...or in a VERY long time. :)


 

How has TrAk changed your everyday life?

- I was part of the Strong Mom Group for a while & took so many things away from that experience. I no longer beat myself up for skipping a day at the gym or eating that dessert. Also, the scale is one tool of many that will show progress in your health journey. 


 

Goals...personal, professional, family?

Personally, my goal is to buy a smaller bathing suit this summer. Professionally, I want to hit 10 million in Real Estate this year. 


 

If you were in a band what existing band/group do you see yourself in?

  Brandi Carlisle, I just love her music!

 

Best place to travel that you've ever been?

- USVI, St. John & St. Thomas - the water & the mountains are so beautiful!


 

What personal failure has helped lead to your ultimate success?

My marriage...I am where I am today because of my journey & feel that I am exactly where I am supposed to be in my life. I am more confident and the happiest I have ever been. 


 

What’s the craziest thing you've seen in the gym?

The shotgunning of the beers after The Murph Challenge. I didn't know people still did that & I love to see it!


 

What three people [living or dead] would you go camping with next weekend?

- My Mom's Dad, my Dad & my Dad's Mom. I never met those grandparents & my Dad because he is no longer with us. 


 

Which sport/activity would you love to do, but are afraid to?

Skydiving....I will never step out of a perfectly good aircraft, but would love the feeling of flying. 

Favorite movie?

-The Holiday 


Best piece of advice you've ever received?

-What others think of you is none of your business. 


 

At what age were you in the best shape of your life?

-When I was younger I was super thin, but can't say that I was "in shape". I think I am working right now to be in the best shape of my life. 


 

Words to live by or favorite quote?

- "Whether you think you can or think you can't you're right".  - Henry Ford 


 

What adventure do you plan to have in the future?

- I am heading to Puerto Rico this summer with my son & his girlfriend. Can't wait!


 

Favorite book and why?

- I don't have a favorite book. Right now I am reading Ninja Selling. The HELP was a very enjoyable book. 


 

Something interesting we don't know about you?

- I have sung in a few weddings. 


 

What do you like most about being apart of the TrAk Family? 

-The community. I have made some friends here that I will cherish forever.

-Showing up. I may not be benching as much or run as fast as others, but I show up for me (& sometimes my girlfriends) & I put in the work. I have never stuck with a gym for as long as I have here.

Sean Doty

Sean-Michael Doty is an Owner of TrAk Athletics an Adult Strength and conditioning Facility in Akron Ohio. Sean has worked in fitness for that last decade plus. He attended Ashland University where he received his Bachelor’s of Science: Exercise Science (Minor in Coaching), and Masters of Education: Sports Science, Applied Exercise Science. While at Ashland University he was a member of the Track and Field Team and from 2011-2015 was a 6x All-Academic- GLIAC team member. He was trained by and worked along side multiple Olympians and World medalist. After college, Sean worked as a personal trainer for golds gym before accepting a position as Assistant Coordinator of the Fitness Education Center at Cuyahoga Community College, where he oversaw the center and the strength and conditioning programs for the athletic teams housed at the western campus. Later, he worked as a Lecturer for Youngstown State University teaching classes on kinesiology, strength and conditioning, wellness coaching, among several others. Before eventual landing a permeant home at TrAk Athletics where he Co- owns and Operates the Facility with Olympian Lauren Regula and her Husband Dave.
