What have you accomplished in your life that you're most proud of?

-My kids, of course, but that’s always the answer so let’s go with my second accomplishment. I worked full time throughout high school and college, sometimes three jobs at once, to pay for Akron U and I was able to graduate without any debt. It made it so much easier to start my career when I moved to Maryland for my first post college job.

If you could take 3 months off and do whatever you wanted, what would that time look like?

-I would go to the Ice Cream School at Penn State and come back to Akron and open an ice cream shoppe.

How did you feel before you found TrAk?

-Overweight and frustrated

How do you feel now?

-Strong and energetic

How has TrAk changed your everyday life?

TrAk’s lifestyle language really spoke to me and helped me focus on what I needed to change to accomplish fitness and nutrition goals. Nutrition was always a struggle and TrAk’s approach is easy to follow and understand

Goals...personal, professional, family?

-Let my kids know they have my unconditional support in life

If you were in a band what existing band/group do you see yourself in?

-One Republic. They have great concerts and I love their lyrics.

Best place to travel that you've ever been?

-Switzerland was amazing

What do your kids remind you that’s ok to do?

-Laugh at my mistakes and not take myself too seriously

What personal failure has helped lead to your ultimate success?

-Not so much a failure, but I had a major surgery just before I turned 40 and it took years to work through the side effects. It made me a more patient person with myself and the world

What’s the craziest thing you've seen in the gym?

-Not at TrAk, but I saw someone do a one handed handstand on a kettle bell

What three people [living or dead] would you go camping with next weekend?

-My Dad (who passed away 23 years ago), my mom, and sister. Although none of those three would camp, let’s call it glamping.

Which sport/activity would you love to do, but are afraid to?

-Rock Climbing

Funniest things you've seen your kid do?

-When Allison was playing fourth grade basketball, she spent all her time on the court talking to the players and waving to the crowd. We were trying to get her to pay attention to the game and offered her a bribe of $5 per foul or basket just to see if she would get more involved. At the end of the season we owed her nothing and she decided to focus on volleyball and tennis, which we were all grateful.

Favorite movie?

-It’s a Wonderful Life

Best piece of advice you've ever received?

-My mom told me right after my oldest child was born to never second guess decisions when raising children. That parents make the best decisions possible with the information we have at that moment and we cannot look back and have regrets. She said family decisions are made with so much thought and love, that they are not purposely wrong, they just turn out different than expected sometimes.

At what age were you in the best shape of your life?

-Late 20’s because I lived in Texas and didn’t know anyone and had nothing else to do but workout.

Words to live by or favorite quote?

-“Paris is always a good idea” – Audrey Hepburn

What adventure do you plan to have in the future?

-I’d like to plan one more big adventurous vacation (maybe Australia) with my kids before they are both doing their own things

Favorite book and why?

-All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr. I always like to read historical fiction and this book was an interesting perspective.

Something interesting we don't know about you?

-I did the Heimlich maneuver on a fellow mom because she was choking on a piece of chicken and couldn’t breathe. Thankfully it worked!

What do you like most about being apart of the TrAk Family?

-The support system is unmatched

Biggest accomplishment at the gym?

-Consistency. Going 4-5 days per week makes me happy
