What have you accomplished in your life that you're most proud of?

Definitely my family.  Marrying my beautiful, adventurous and caring wife Sarah and raising our two children, Addison (10) and Isaac (8) to believe in themselves and be kind and caring to their friends and family.

If you could take 3 months off and do whatever you wanted, what would that time look like?

Soccer is a big passion for my family and a dream of mine has always been to take my family on a European soccer tour, visiting famous stadiums of the historic English Premier League giants, Italian and Spanish super clubs, all while soaking in the local culture.  The trip would culminate with a match at Old Trafford to see Manchester United take on one of their rivals.

I tend to try to pack in way too much stuff during a vacation and not allow enough time to relax, so slowing down to enjoy the moment would be one of my goals

How did you feel before you found TrAk?

I was active, but felt stagnant in my workouts and lacking motivation

How do you feel now?

I have more energy and feel stronger while at the same time being less sore after workouts.  I look forward to going to the gym and being challenged.

How has TrAk changed your everyday life?

I feel more motivated to better myself and set an example for my kids.  I want them to see that you can still lead an active lifestyle as a parent and I enjoy being able to participate in activities with my kids and not just watch them from the sidelines.

Goals...personal, professional, family?

My goal is to create a balance in all of those areas of my life.  I want to set an example for my children that success comes from working hard and having integrity.

A personal goal is to complete a triathlon (at least a mini/sprint)

If you were in a band what existing band/group do you see yourself in?

I lack any real musical talent, but I would enjoy touring with O.A.R.  They are all down to earth guys and bring a ton of energy to their shows.

Best place to travel that you've ever been?

I was fortunate to go on a 10 day all expenses paid trip shortly after college through a program called Birthright.  Experiencing the culture, people and history was something I will never forget and look forward to going back one day with my family.

What do your kids remind you that’s ok to do?

Use your imagination.  I am a pretty type A person that likes to follow a set plan, but watching them come up with games to entertain themselves reminds me that we don’t always need specific instructions in life.

What’s the craziest thing you've seen in the gym?

Watching John (Scanlon) manage to take every workout and turn it into a superset.

What three people [living or dead] would you go camping with next weekend?

Technically more than three, but I would love for my family to meet their deceased great grandparents.  I’d probably also invite Bear Grylls since he seems like an entertaining guy and we would need at least one person in the group who knows what they are doing out in the wild.

Which sport/activity would you love to do, but are afraid to?

I’ve always thought it would be fun to surf, but I’m not a huge fan of deep ocean water and having things swimming around me that I can’t see.

Funniest things you've seen your kid do?

Watching them try to tell jokes is pretty amusing because they are terrible at timing (and often remembering) the punchline.  They are at the age where they really enjoy the Dad Jokes, so I make sure to pass along all of the gems that Jimmer would come up with for class.

Favorite movie?

Shawshank Redemption and the Jason Bourne movies

Best piece of advice you've ever received?

“Don’t let the perfect be the enemy of the good”

At what age were you in the best shape of your life?

I feel great after turning 40 this year, working out at TrAk a few times a week and still playing in multiple soccer leagues.

Words to live by or favorite quote?

Many people today would rather be noticed than do something noteworthy.  Choose to do something noteworthy.  Getting noticed will then be a by-product.

What adventure do you plan to have in the future?

My wife and I definitely want to rent an RV and take the kids out west to explore the beauty of our national parks.  I know a few others in the TrAk family have taken such a trip and hopefully they can share their tips and advice when the time comes.

Favorite book and why?

Tuesdays with Morrie - It is a good reminder to treasure life itself and the relationships one makes at each phase of life

Something interesting we don't know about you?

I love all kinds of breakfast foods and would be happy eating it for every meal of the day.

What do you like most about being a part of the TrAk Family?

Being surrounded by a diverse group of people who are all motivated to improve the quality of their lives in some way, shape, or form

Biggest accomplishment at the gym?

I was happy to hit my goal during the 6 week challenge when I first joined TrAk, but it also felt really good to complete Murph last year, not only the physical workout, but also for the reasons we were doing it.  One day I hope to train enough to do it with a weight vest on.
