Melissa Casebere AOM

May AOM – Melissa Casebere

Alright alright.

Here we go …

The May 2017 TrAk Athlete of the Month was an easy choice and one that we really had fun making.

This strong momma brings joy to the gym every single time she is here.

The smile hides a fierce athlete and a strong woman and we love her for it.

We give you, Melissa Casebere, the May Athlete of the Month.

What have you accomplished in your life that you’re most proud of?

Surrounding myself with people who I love, who build me up, and who I love to support.

If you could take 3 months off and do whatever you wanted, what would that time look like?

3 months in Spanish language immersion.

If you were in a band, what existing band/group do you see yourself in?

Totally a backup dancer for Lady Gaga. Best costumes ever!

Favorite place to travel to?

New York City, of course.

What do your kids remind you that it’s OK to do?

Ask questions.

What personal failure has helped lead to your ultimate success?

Trying to do things on my own. Things always work out better when I ask for help or am accountable to another person.

What’s the craziest thing you’ve seen in the gym?

Jonmichael doing pullups with a weight hanging from his waist by a chain. And I can’t even do one!

What three people [living or dead] would you go camping with next weekend?

My husband, Adam, (the Eagle Scout, to keep us alive), Alton Brown (to do the cooking and because I think he’d get along with Adam), and Ellen DeGeneres because she’d make me laugh the whole time.

Which sport/activity would you love to do, but are afraid to?

Scuba diving, because … sharks.

Funniest things you’ve seen your kids do?

Fall down while standing completely still. Also, fall off a chair while not moving.

Favorite movie?

Any movie where Brad Pitt takes his shirt off.

Best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

Run your own race.

At what age were you in the best shape of your life?

Goals … personal, professional, family?

Work hard, have fun, and don’t take my family for granted. Not necessarily in that order.

Words to live by or favorite quote?

Never apologize for who you are.

What adventure do you plan to have in the future?

Explore the west coast with Adam this summer for our 15th anniversary.

Favorite book and why?

That’s like trying to choose a favorite star in the sky.

Something interesting we don’t know about you?

I love Wally Waffle.

What do you like most about being a part of the TrAk Family?

It feels like we show up for each other as much as we do for ourselves. It is such a supportive environment.

Biggest accomplishment at the gym?

Doing pullups with a weight tied around my waist by a chain. Just kidding. My biggest accomplishment is showing up week after week and loving it.
