You Aren’t the First — Being in Shape Can Change Your Story and Change Your Life
If the 2pm slump is your worst enemy, you might want to consider making a change. Being in shape can do so much more for your life than many people realize. It’s more than just looking strong or skinny, being in shape can have a positive impact on your life and well-being.
It’s true that there are times in your life where there just isn’t time to focus on being in shape. Having your first child is a big one. Everything is new, and you’re trying to pretend like you know what you’re doing as a parent, we get it. The problem for most people occurs when you let that brief period of time double, and then keep doubling it.
At some point, you have to stop saying, “it’s not my time” and put an end to placing yourself and your needs on the bottom. Stop saying that once your kid is older, you’re going to have time that you can dedicate to yourself, and you can use it to focus on being in shape (for the first time in 15 years).
Another concept to consider is that you’re not the first person to be in this position. Many of the busiest people around still make time to work out. They know that exercise makes them feel better in the midst of their hectic lives, and they’re taking advantage of it. You have three, four, five kids? You run a business or own a company? You aren’t the first one in that situation and you darn sure aren’t the only one. Someone out there just like you is making time to take care of themselves and at the same time, taking care of their other business.
Now everyone has periods in their life that they go through where being in shape gets put on the back burner for more important issues in their life. The difference is where the people who are dedicated to a healthy lifestyle pick up where they left off when the difficult time is over. They’ve made a promise to themselves to stay healthy, and it’s such a major part of their lives that even when they set it aside for a moment, they’re able to pick it back up.
You can absolutely reach this point too. Being dedicated to a healthy lifestyle isn’t easy at first, but you’ll be able to reach that point in a short period of time. Once you begin reaping the benefits of a healthier lifestyle, it gets easier and easier to stay motivated and committed to your plan because you enjoy the way it makes you feel, the way it makes you look, and most importantly the way it enables you to perform in all areas of your life.
Being in Shape Can Change How You Get Through the Day
When you finish a great workout there’s an awesome feeling of accomplishment that washes over you, and you can carry it with you for the rest of your day. Taking care of yourself and making a promise to focus on being in shape can have a huge impact on your life and your work that you might not realize.
Many people want to put more effort towards being in shape, but they say they don’t have enough time because their job is more important. These people would be shocked to realize that people with busier jobs work out regularly, and they do because it helps them be more productive while they’re working. Being in shape makes you feel good, and if you’re making time for a great workout before you head to your desk, you’re not going to feel exhausted when lunch time rolls around. Having more energy at work is the most common feedback we get.
There’s plenty of science behind the correlation between exercise and productivity. But the best way to learn is to go into a a gym and have an honest discussion with a coach. They’re going to learn about your goals and be able to tell you specifically about how being in shape is going to impact your life. They’ll be able to show you people they’ve helped who are living it right now.
They’ll also tell you that regular exercise is going to have a positive affect on your emotional strength too. Working out makes you feel good. Putting in the time to being in shape is going to help you feel happier, and allow you to have a more positive outlook in life. You’re going to gain confidence and feel better about yourself. The empowerment that people experience after a few months of working out regularly is enough to convince them to keep doing it.
Joining the right gym will also help you discover a truly supportive community. Not only will you find like-minded people dedicated to being in shape, but you’ll find a support group that you can turn to when you’re struggling. Hang around long enough, you might even find a few great friends.
If you still think you can’t do it, that you don’t have enough time, consider this: All you need is three hours a week, an hour every other day, to start on the path to being in shape. If you’re ready to change your lifestyle and feel happier and healthier, you can make time for three hours getting in a good sweat. There’s no better time than the present to work on your goals for your fitness. Put an end to the excuses and go work for it, your body and your mind will thank you for it.
